Totally FREE — won’t even ask for your credit card information and doesn’t resort to trickeries in terms of saying it’s free but only if you subscribe to their services
This is the government mandated site where you can get 1 free credit report from the 3 credit bureaus once a year

You can get credit reports from all 3 agencies – one from each per year. You can check your credit every 4 months to make sure that if something pops up, you can take care of right away. Although each of the companies will report slightly different from the others. You can also get your credit score for a nominal fee (about $6) but your score will also vary from the three companies. If you want your credit score, go for your FICO score.

You can grab a 100% free credit report at the site below.
There’s a 30-day trial and free credit monitoring but you can cancel at any time. Just enter your email address on the front page to setup a free membership and download your free credit report. If anyone knows of a better site I’ve never met them:)
